With our annual Easter egg hunt just around the corner, new life growing in the garden, and plenty happening behind the scenes, it’s shaping up to be a beautiful (and busy) season.
What’s New at Clandulla This April?
Life at Clandulla rarely stands still, and this past month has been full of fresh starts.
With Easter just around the corner, we’re getting ready for one of our favourite traditions, our annual Easter egg hunt for the kids. There’s something pretty special about watching little ones run around the farm with baskets in hand, collecting eggs while goats try to “help” and chickens wander straight through the middle of it all. It’s a little bit chaotic… but that’s exactly how we like it.
It’s also been a really special moment for us as a family-run business. We were incredibly proud to recently be recognised at the Scenic Rim Business Excellence Awards in the Accommodation category, something that honestly means so much because it reflects the experience we’re trying to create here at Clandulla. And truly, it’s something we share with every guest who has stayed with us and supported us along the way.
Behind the scenes, there’s also been something new quietly taking shape.
Over the past six weeks, Farmer Bok has been getting her hands properly dirty (and learning very quickly that farm life doesn’t always go to plan) with the start of our flower and veggie garden. What began as a few ideas has now turned into rows of seedlings, soil experiments, and a growing vision for what this space could become — not just for us, but for our guests too.
The long-term dream? Fresh produce, seasonal flowers, and eventually a little farmgate offering where guests can take a piece of Clandulla home with them.
It’s early days… but it’s very exciting to see it starting to grow.
Which Animals Are Stealing the Show?
Every month there’s at least one animal who steals the spotlight… and this month, it’s less about one in particular and more about the general energy across the farm.
With the change in season, the animals seem to have picked up on it before we have — a little more playful, a little more curious, and always ready for attention during the farm tours. The goats, as always, are leading the charge when it comes to mischief, and the chickens remain completely convinced they are in charge of everything.
And yes… Tofu and Yuki are still the best of friends, still doing their own thing, and still confusing everyone who meets them for the first time.
What’s On in the Scenic Rim This Season?
Beyond the farm gates, Easter is a beautiful time to explore the Scenic Rim. The weather is starting to cool slightly, the countryside is looking lush, and there’s a real sense of people slowing down and enjoying time together.
There is the Destination Scenic Rim’s Farm Gate Trail this weekend and the Scenic Rim’s Eat Local Month coming up at the end of May and all of June.
For those staying with us over Easter, it’s the perfect mix, a relaxed farm stay, time with the animals, and the chance to explore local markets, cafes, and nearby attractions across the region.
