Start your Sunday with a wander around the Canungra Village Markets at Moriarty Park. Browse the stalls, pick up something tasty and enjoy an easy country morning before exploring more of Canungra and the surrounding Scenic Rim.
School Holiday Fun at Canungra Library β 22 & 29 September
Looking for something to keep the little ones entertained during the September school holidays? Canungra Library has some fun activities planned, including Beat the Bongo! on 22 September and Happy Singing Kids with Susanne OβLeary on 29 September.
A handy little addition to a day exploring Canungra β and especially useful if the spring weather decides not to cooperate!
Alpaca Adventures
Alpacas are always a winner with the kids! Head to Mountview Alpaca Farm at OβReillyβs Canungra Valley Vineyards, where families can meet, feed and even walk an alpaca.
Pair it with a picnic beside the creek or a wander around the vineyard and you have yourself a pretty lovely Scenic Rim afternoon.
Worth the Drive
Beaudesert Show β 4 & 5 September
Thereβs nothing quite like a country show!
The Beaudesert Show returns for two full days and nights of family fun, with a circus, sideshow alley, agricultural displays and competitions, pavilions, food and fireworks.
It’s a great opportunity to experience a little more of the Scenic Rim’s country character, with plenty to keep the kids entertained too.
Tamborine Rodeo β 20 September
Saddle up for the Tamborine Rodeo at Woodstock Farm. Expect bull riding, bronc events, junior competitions, market stalls, entertainment and a dedicated kids’ zone.
For families looking for a proper country experience during their Scenic Rim getaway, this one deserves a spot on the calendar.
Springtime on the Mountain β 25β27 September
Spring is when Tamborine Mountain really knows how to show off.
Springtime on the Mountain celebrates the season by opening a collection of beautiful private gardens to visitors. Expect colourful displays, gorgeous spring blooms and plenty of garden inspiration.
Garden lovers, you may need to allow extra room in the car for all the plants you’ll suddenly decide you need at home!
Seasonal Things We Love
September is one of our favourite times to explore the Scenic Rim. The cooler winter days start giving way to beautiful spring weather, wildflowers appear and gardens across the region burst back into life.
Pack a picnic and head for Lamington National Park, lace up the walking shoes for a family hike or simply spend some time outdoors enjoying the countryside before Queensland’s summer heat arrives.
Spring also makes a great time for a Scenic Rim road trip β country towns, farm gates, cafΓ©s, markets and plenty of beautiful scenery along the way.
From the Farm at Clandulla
Spring has sprung at Clandulla and everything on the farm seems to know it!
Our male peacocks have their magnificent tail feathers out and are doing their very best to impress the ladies. There is plenty of strutting, shaking and showing off happening around here at the moment.
The gardens are growing, the fruit trees are waking up and Farmer Bok is already plotting what can be picked, tasted and turned into something delicious.
